Olin S. Byrum III, Pastor
Olin S. Byrum, III is the second pastor of Covenant Baptist and was called to Covenant in August, 2000. A native of Belmont, Gaston County, North Carolina, Olin is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University and has a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Olin is married to Jane and they have two daughters, Leah Marie and Madelyn Jane. |

Pam Phillips, Director of Preschool, Children and Youth
Pam Phillips began serving as Director of Preschool and Children’s Ministries in October, 1999. She served as a Children’s Activities Director for a sister church in the summers of 1998 and 1999 and also taught preschool for six years. Pam graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 1980. She earned a Master of Divinity in Christian Education from Gardner-Webb School of Divinity, graduating in May, 2003. In addition to working with the preschool and children at Covenant, Pam also leads the youth in their activities. Pam was born in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to North Carolina in 1983. She married her high school sweetheart, Ray, in 1979. They have three adult children—Wendy, Nicholas, and Marshall—and two grandchildren—Tripp, born in 2006 and Addison, born in 2009. In her spare time, Pam enjoys being a Nana, spending time with her family, reading, walking, and working crossword puzzles. |

Sharon Waters, Church Administration
Sharon has worked as an administrative assistant for twenty years and began serving at Covenant Baptist in March, 2006. She has an Associate of Arts degree from Gaston College. Sharon and her husband, Chester, have three sons and six grandchildren.
Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and mountain vacations. |

Pam Greenwood, Music Director
Pam joined the Covenant staff in January, 2012, as Music Director. With a BA degree in voice from UNCC, Pam has had 30 years experience teaching and leading choirs. She is a past Minister of Music at Sardis Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. Pam and husband, Jim, have been married 41 years and have two adult daughters, Joanna and Jessica, and a granddaughter, Ava Brooks.
Pam is also employed with Community School of the Arts in Charlotte as Music Around Instructor. In this position she teaches a preschool music program in five area preschools and child development centers, and also an afternoon preschool music program at satellite locations.

Tom Kiff, Organist
Tom is a native of northeastern North Carolina, where he learned traditional worship styles at First Baptist Church of Ahoskie. He received his Music Degree from Campbell University, studying organ under Ms. Susan Horton. At Campbell, he accompanied the University Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Robert Piper. Since graduation, Tom has taught music in schools (PreK-12) and worked for various companies in office and retail management. He has been employed at Microsoft, Charlotte since 1990. In addition, Tom has “always worked in a church.” Beginning as a teenager, he was the volunteer accompanist for his church’s youth choir and he also served with the North Carolina Baptist Assembly during his college years. He has served as youth director, choir director and organist for churches. |

Jannine Dellinger,
Assistant Pianist
Jannine was born in Gastonia and has lived there her entire life except for a seven-year stint in Shelby, NC during the early years of her marriage. She is married to Gary and they have two grown children, Mandy and Brian. After graduation from high school, Jannine attended Gardner-Webb University. Jannine took piano lessons for a year and a half while she was in grammar school. After not playing for many years, she again picked up her love of the piano and was later named Assistant Pianist at Covenant. Besides piano, Jannine enjoys painting watercolor portraits of people and pets, gardening, decorating, and shopping…but not cooking! |
