MISSIONS

Doing God's Work

Missions and ministry are vital to the congregation of Covenant Baptist. The Mission Action Council leads the church in finding ways to participate in missions and ministry.

Through the annual budget, Covenant supports the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Baptist Children’s Homes, Baptist Retirement Homes, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Cornerstone Christian Ministry, as well as other groups and institutions.

Special offerings, such as the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Global Missions Offering and the North Carolina Missions Offering, along with others, are promoted throughout the year.

Covenant members are also involved in hands-on missions. Several church members have had Disaster Relief training and have led groups to rebuild homes devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Groups have also gone to areas of North Carolina to help hurricane victims. Covenant has also financed and built a Habitat for Humanity home.

A very special ministry of the church is the Handyman Ministry. Members seek to provide help to those in our community who need assistance with home repairs.

Other mission activities include the Souper Bowl, Angel Tree, food drive for Crisis Assistance Ministry, and any other needs the Mission Action Council might bring to the church throughout the year.

Missions is indeed a priority at Covenant Baptist Church!
